The Long Beach Original Lobster Festival at Rainbow Lagoon Park returns for its 22nd year of crustacean celebratio­ns. Eat treats made with Maine lobster, take photos wearing lobster garb or embrace your musical side; there’s a karaoke lounge on Sept. 7 and 8; you’ll also get to see a Michael Jackson tribute performer on Sept. 8. The California State Parks Foundation’s Park Champions hosts a two-hour work event to remove invasive plants at Rio de Los Angeles State Park. Park Champions supplies the tools and teaches about habitat restoratio­n; just bring drinking water and wear work-friendly clothing. Watch 45 chalk artists create sidewalk art at the Ventura Art and Street Painting Festival at Ventura Harbor Village. Jewelry, mosaics and other crafts will be for sale.
