Bol lifts Oregon past Syracuse

Bol Bol had 26 points and nine rebounds, and No. 13 Oregon beat No. 15 Syracuse 80-65 in the consolatio­n game of the 2K Classic on Friday at New York.

Payton Pritchard added 18 points for the Ducks (3-1) and Kenny Wooten had 12 in the first-ever meeting between the ACC and Pac-12 programs. Tyus Battle scored 17 points to lead the Orange (2-2).

In the title game, Tyler Cook scored 26 points as Iowa beat Connecticu­t, 91-72.

at No. 2 Kansas 89, Louisiana Lafayette 76: Lagerald Vick hit seven three-pointers and had a career-high 33 points, Dedric Lawson and Udoka Azubuike came alive late and the Jayhawks held off the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Vick also had nine rebounds for Kansas (3-0) while topping his 32-point outburst earlier in the week.

at No. 6 Nevada 87, Arkansas Little Rock 59: Caleb Martin had 19 points and twin brother Cody scored 14 to lead the Wolf Pack (3-0) over the Trojans. Caleb Martin hit a three-pointer to start the scoring and the Wolf Pack never trailed.

at No. 22 Louisiana State74, Louisiana Tech 67: Ja’vonte Smart scored 16 points, and his late threepoint­er put the Tigers ahead for good in a back-and-forth victory.

The Bulldogs tied it at 62 on a Daquan Bracey jumper with 2:29 left, but Smart hit his three on the next possession for the Tigers (4-0).

No. 12 Kansas State 95, Eastern Kentucky 68: Xavier Sneed scored 16 points to lead five Wildcats in double figures to advance to the semifinals of the Paradise Jam tournament in the Virgin Islands.

at No. 4 Virginia, 97, Coppin State 40: De’Andre Hunter scored 20 points, and the Cavaliers opened with a 21-5 run to beat the Eagles.

Hunter was outscoring Coppin State for most of the first half after hitting two early three-pointers for the Cavaliers (3-0).

at No. 7 North Carolina 108, Tennessee Tech 58: Luke Maye had 15 points to spark the Tar Heels (4-0).

Sterling Manley added 13 points for the Tar Heels, who shot 55% against an overmatche­d opponent. Seventh Woods had seven points and a career-best eight assists off the bench, including a behindthe-back pass to set up a corner three-pointer from Cameron Johnson after halftime.

No. 23 Purdue 79, Davidson 58: Carsen Edwards had 29 points and the Boilermake­rs (4-0) won to reach the final of the Charleston Classic.

Edwards had six of Purdue’s 13 three-pointers. It was his fifth straight game with 20 or more points.

No. 16 Virginia Tech 88, Northeaste­rn 60: Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 20 points as the Hokies won to advance to the championsh­ip of the Charleston Classic. The Hokies (3-0) broke open a close game with a 23-2 run.
