The number of days officials have to investigate whether any votes were wrongly rejected in the Nov. 6 statewide election due to registration forms that weren’t properly filed by the Department of Motor Vehicles, and whether the results in any state or local races should be reconsidered. ‘The optimism — that characterizes the waves of immigrants who have come here — runs through my blood.
