Sympathy for Jussie Smollett

Regarding “Days After Attack, ‘I Had to Be Here’ ” by August Brown [Feb. 4]: I didn’t know much about Jussie Smollett. I watch “Empire,” but don’t listen to his music.

I support him being who he is. His right to express himself, share his music, acting, and love of his family, friends and fans without fear of being the object of some small-minded bigots.
