Utah makes only five shots in second half

Nahziah Carter scored 12 points, Washington held Utah to only five second-half field goals, and the Huskies beat the visiting Utes 62-45 on Wednesday night.

The Huskies held the Utes without a field goal for the opening 11:50 of the second half.

Parker Van Dyke’s two free throws with 15:12 to play were the only points for Utah until Booth Gach knocked down a three-pointer with 8:50 remaining.

Gach’s basket looked like it may be the last for the Utes, as they didn’t make another shot until he hit a floater in the lane with 3:20 to play.

Utah finished the second half five for 20 from the field, making a three-pointer and two layups in the final 2:30.

at Washington State 76, Colorado 74: Robert Franks scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Cougars held off the Buffaloes.

D’Shawn Schwartz missed a potential gamewinnin­g three-pointer at the buzzer.

CJ Elleby added 18 points with eight rebounds and Marvin Cannon scored 13 points for Washing ton State.

Tyler Bey had 12 points and 12 rebounds for Colorado. Evan Battey added 13 points with seven rebounds.

at Arizona State 80, Stanford 62: Rob Edwards and Remy Martin scored 16 points each, leading the Sun Devils to a win over the Cardinal.

Arizona State earned a key conference win with only one of its final four regularsea­son games left at home.
