TV we can all agree on
It turns out liberals, conservatives and in- betweens can find common ground in “Bones” and “Criminal Minds,” according to a study out Wednesday from the Norman Lear Center at USC Annenberg and futurePerfect Lab. The report, which analyzed 3,096 Americans’ political beliefs and TV- watching behaviors, is part of a larger effort to track links between entertainment picks and ideological divides.
Depending on responses, participants were divided into Blues ( 47%), Reds ( 35%) and a swing group, Purples ( 18%).
Other series equally watched by all three groups were “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “Mythbusters.” “Pawn Stars” was on all three most- watched lists, but also a show people disliked. Johanna Blakley, managing director of the Norman Lear Center, said with a laugh, “It turns out, across ideological divides, people love to hate that show.”
