Two share the lead at John Deere

- wire reports

Cameron Tringale and Andrew Landry shared the third-round lead Saturday in the John Deere Classic.

Winless on the PGA Tour, Tringale shot a sixunder-par 65 to match Landy at 16-under 197 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. Landry had a 67.

“Some golf courses you can leaderboard watch, but this is not one of them,” Landry said. “You want to stay with your game plan.”

Bill Haas, who shot a 64 to tie for the best score of the round, and Adam Schenk, who had a 66, are a stroke behind.

Second-round leader Jhonattan Vegas stumbled to a 76 and fell to eight under.

Tringale bogeyed the first hole, but that only motivated him to post his lowest score of the tournament.

“The bogey on the first hole was a shot in the leg,” Tringale said. “But I was able to get out of there myself and birdie the next two, which gave me some momentum.”

Scott Parel took advantage of Retief Goosen’s problems and moved into the third-round lead in the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship at Akron, Ohio.

Seven strokes behind Goosen at the start of the round, Parel birdied two of the last three holes — holing a 30-footer on the par-four 18th — for three-under 67 and a one-stroke lead over Goosen.

Goosen followed his opening rounds of 69 and 62 with a 75. Parel is at five-under 205.

Sei Young Kim shot a five-under 66 in the Marathon Classic at Sylvania, Ohio, to take a one-stroke lead over Lexi Thompson into the final round.

Kim had seven birdies and two bogeys to reach 16under 197. Thompson eagled the par-five 18th for a 65.

“It was a little tough to judge the distance,” Kim said. “Wind very gusty, on and off.”

U.S. Women’s Open champion Jeongeun Lee6 was third at 12 under after a 69.

Bernd Wiesberger takes a two-shot lead into the last round of the Scottish Open after carding a sixunder 65 in the third round at North Berwick.

Wiesberger is at 20 under for the all-time lowest 54-hole total at the European Tour event, and the lowest of his career.

Eric van Rooyen shot 67 to drop out of a tie for the lead to second at 18 under.

Defending champion Tony Romo increased his lead to nine points in the American Century Championship at Stateline, Nev. The former quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, now an NFL analyst, shot his second consecutive two-under 70 and scored 25 points for a total of 51 in the celebrity tournament.

Former pitcher Derek Lowe and former tennis player Mardy Fish were tied for second.
