Shields fight off after altercation

Claressa Shields’ first pro fight in her hometown of Flint, Mich., was called off after an altercation before the weigh-in left her opponent’s trainer hospitalized.

Ivana Habazin was supposed to make her U.S. debut against Shields, the twotime Olympic gold medalist trying to become a three-division champion. But James Ali Bashir, the veteran trainer for Habazin, was struck by an unidentified person and knocked unconscious after a confrontation with Shields’ camp.
