Antetokoun­mpo leads by example

Giannis Antetokoun­mpo had 36 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists to lead the host Milwaukee Bucks to a 115-105 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night in the first meeting between the teams since the Eastern Conference finals.

Eric Bledsoe added 14 points and five assists, and Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez each had 11 points for the Bucks.

The Bucks had the best record in the East last season and then took a 2-0 lead over the Raptors in the conference finals, but Toronto took the next four en route to its first NBA championsh­ip. In this rematch, Kyle Lowry scored a season-high 36 points and Pascal Siakam 16 for Toronto, which had won four of its first five this season.

Philadelph­ia 129, at Portland 128:

The 76ers’ Furkan Korkmaz drained a three-point jumper with 0.4 seconds left after the Trail Blazers’ Anfernee Simons had handed his team a 128-126 lead with his own 3-pointer with 2.2 seconds remaining. Portland’s Damian Lillard missed the potential game-winner as time expired, leaving the 76ers (5-0) as the sole undefeated team in the league.

Former Clipper Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 23 points and eight rebounds to lead the Thunder past the Pelicans, who played most of the game without leading scorer Brandon Ingram, the former Laker who left in the second quarter with an injury.

at Detroit 113, Brooklyn 109:

Bruce Brown set career highs with 22 points and seven assists and Andre Drummond continued his earlyseaso­n statistica­l dominance as the Pistons topped the Nets.

Denver 91, at Orlando 87:

Jamal Murray scored 22 points, Nikola Jokic had 20 points and seven rebounds and both made big late plays to help the Nuggets defeat the Magic.

Minnesota 131, at Washington 109:

Andrew Wiggins scored 21 points, Robert Covington and Jarrett Culver each added 20 and the Timberwolv­es cruised to a victory over the Wizards, who got 30 points from Bradley Beal.

Phoenix 114, at Memphis 105:

Devin Booker scored 21 points and Aron Baynes hit a career-high four three-pointers and had 20 points in the Suns’ victory over the Grizzlies.

Charlotte 93, at Golden State 87:

Terry Rozier made a short goahead jumper and added two free throws with 4.9 seconds left as the Hornets held off the injury-depleted Warriors, who were led by Erich Paschall’s 25 points.
