Re “The Prop. 187 payoff,” letters, Nov. 6

A letter writer criticizes Democrats for not reacting to the illegality of immigrants crossing the border while at the same time criticizing President Trump for his possibly illegal activities. This may be valid, but it does not go far enough.

It is illegal to cross the border without permission, but is it immoral? It is illegal for Hong Kong protesters to wear masks, and it was illegal to hide Jews like Anne Frank.

Trump has not only possibly broken the law by attempting to extort Ukraine, he has also committed an immoral act by using the presidency for personal gain. Larry Harmell
