OTTAWA, Canada — Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored 3:12 into overtime to give the Ottawa Senators a 3-2 victory over the Kings on Thursday night.

After Tyler Toffoli tied it for the Kings with eight seconds left in regulation, Pageau scored off his own rebound for his team-leading seventh goal of the season.

Dustin Brown also scored for the Kings, and Jack Campbell made 25 saves, but the Kings fell to 511.

“Good for us to find a way to get a point, not so good on us to leave a point behind,” Kings coach Todd McLellan said.

“Our net play wasn’t good. Often when you speak that way you’re talking about your defensemen, but our low forward didn’t do a very good job as well and you can see that on both goals. So we’ve got some work to do.”

Trevor Lewis left the game for the Kings midway through the second with a lower-body injury. He didn’t return. McLellan did not have an update other than to say Lewis will be evaluated Friday.

The Kings are 0-2 on a three-game eastern Canada trip that concludes Saturday at Montreal.

“I don’t think anybody in this room wants to be playing to lose,” Toffoli said. “We’re playing to win games and we’re frustrated. We want to be winning games and that’s a big point we all wish we could have had.”

Anthony Duclair and Artem Anisimov also scored for Ottawa, and Anders Nilsson made 30 saves.

“We’re starting to build something here,” Pageau said. “I think we played a solid game overall. Slow start at the beginning but after that I think we took over.”

Jonathan Davidsson made his NHL debut for Ottawa after being called up from the American Hockey League. .
