Young’s 42 points lift Hawks to victory

Trae Young scored 15 of his season-high 42 points in the fourth quarter and added 11 assists to lead the visiting Atlanta Hawks over the Denver Nuggets 125-121 on Tuesday night.

Young finished seven points shy of his career high set March 1 against Chicago. He was 13 for 21 from the field and finished eight for 13 on three-pointers.

Jabari Parker added 20 points and nine rebounds for the Hawks, who played most of the second half without guard Kevin Huerter after he suffered a left shoulder injury.

Will Barton led Denver with 21 points. The Nuggets’ three-game winning streak ended.

at Philadelph­ia 98, Cleveland 97:

Joel Embiid had 27 points, including the go-ahead dunk with 13.2 seconds left, to lift the 76ers. Philadelph­ia won despite missing 30 of 38 three-point tries. Jordan Clarkson and Kevin Love each scored 20 for the Cavaliers.

at Utah 119, Brooklyn 114: Donovan Mitchell scored 30 points, Rudy Gobert had 18 points and 15 rebounds, and the Jazz prevailed. Kyrie Irving scored 27 for the Nets but missed a potential go-ahead three-pointer with 7.6 seconds left. He finished 10 for 30 from the field.

at Miami 117, Detroit 108: Jimmy Butler scored 11 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and finished with 13 assists and no turnovers, and the Heat beat the short-handed Pistons. Detroit held out Blake Griffin (hamstring, knee) and Derrick Rose (hamstring).

at Chicago 120, New York 102:

Rookie guard Coby White made a franchise-record seven threepoint­ers in the fourth quarter, and the Bulls pulled away to win. White — delighting a home crowd that included Roy Williams, White’s coach at North Carolina — finished with 27 points. The Knicks lost for the sixth time in seven games.

at Indiana 111, Oklahoma City 85:

T.J. Warren scored 11 of his 23 points in the third quarter, and the Pacers won comfortabl­y. Malcolm Brogdon added 20 points, six rebounds and five assists for Indiana, which has won four straight and seven of eight.

at Sacramento 107, Portland 99:

Bogdan Bogdanovic had 25 points and 10 assists, and the Kings won in their first game since losing leading scorer De’Aaron Fox to an ankle injury. Damian Lillard scored 27 for the Trail Blazers, who have lost five of six.
