Andrew Jones scored 22 points and Courtney Ramey had 21 to lead host Texas past No. 20 West Virginia 6757 on Monday night.

The Longhorns (17-11, 7-8 Big 12 Conference) have won three games in a row and the Mountaineers (19-9, 7-8) have lost six consecutive games on the road in conference play.

West Virginia beat Texas by 38 points Jan. 20, the worst loss of coach Shaka Smart’s five years with the Longhorns.

Jones scored 16 points in the first half on a barrage of three-point baskets, and the Longhorns shot 62% against one of the best defensive teams in the country to lead 34-28 at halftime.

The Longhorns are without three starters or regular players because of injuries and had another, forward Kamaka Hepa, out Monday because of strep throat.

“Over the last couple of games, me and Courtney have just felt a chemistry. It’s beginning to click,” Jones said.

“With guys out, it’s forcing me to step up. When two players are in sync, you can do great things and lead a team to victory.”

The Mountaineers’ last real chance to push for the lead came when Smart was called for a technical foul and Sean McNeil made both free throws to get West Virginia within 54-47.

“I did not try to get that. When you are playing [West Virginia], it’s hand-to-hand combat,” Smart said. “It’s a very challenging game to officiate. I imagine I just got caught up standing up for our guys.”

Oscar Tshiebwe scored 14 points to lead West Virginia.

The Jayhawks have won five games in a row against the Cowboys (14-14, 4-11) and 22 of the last 24 games played against them at Allen Fieldhouse. They have won 23 consecutive games overall.

Cameron McGriff scored 16 points for the Cowboys, who shot 39% from the field.

at No. 6 Florida State 82, No. 11 Louisville 67: Trent Forrest scored 16 points to rally the Seminoles from a double-digit deficit.

The Seminoles (24-4, 14-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) outscored the Cardinals 5027 in the second half and extended their home winning streak to 22 games.

Florida State set a school record for ACC regular-season victories with three games remaining.

Ryan McMahon scored 14 points for the Cardinals (23-6, 14-4), who went more than seven minutes without a field goal during one second-half stretch.
