Kings and Ducks sign youngsters

The Kings signed forward prospect Tyler Madden, 20, to a three-year entry-level contract, the team announced.

Acquired by the Kings before this season’s trade deadline, Madden turns pro after two seasons at Northeaste­rn University. — Jack Harris

The Ducks signed center Jack Badini to a two-year entry-level contract and defenseman Hunter Drew toa three-year entry-level deal.

Badini, 22, played three seasons at Harvard.

Drew, 21, split his profession­al debut in 2019-20 with San Diego of the American Hockey League and Tulsa of the ECHL.

Seven-time All-Star lefthander Chris Sale of the Boston Red Sox had Tommy John surgery and is expected to sit out until the middle of the 2021 season.

A woman who said she was sexually assaulted by a Michigan State basketball player is asking the Michigan attorney general’s office to investigat­e, according to a published report.

ESPN, citing a police report and emails obtained through a public records request, reported that campus police told prosecutor­s they had probable cause that sophomore guard Brock Washington raped the woman Jan. 19 while she was too intoxicate­d to consent. Police referred the case to county prosecutor­s, who declined to file charges.

A campus police spokesman told ESPN on Monday that the attorney general’s office requested the case file and the department was cooperatin­g.

Billy Joe Saunders, the World Boxing Organizati­on’s super-middleweig­ht champion, had his license suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control after publishing a social media video offering men advice on how to hit their female partners during the coronaviru­s lockdown.
