‘NBA 2K’ games pushed back

Clippers guard Patrick Beverley is one of eight NBA players set to play Thursday in the quarterfin­al round of the league’s players-only “NBA 2K” video-game tournament. The NBA has told teams that they may not conduct or attend any workouts with draft-eligible players during the league’s coronaviru­s hiatus, a major change from typical procedures.

Carl Franklin, who coached NBA players Byron Scott and Elden Campbell at Inglewood Morningsid­e High and spent more than 40 years as an educator, administra­tor and coach, died after a short illness, according to a family member. He was 74. — Eric Sondheimer
