NCAA rejects Ollie’s appeal

An NCAA panel rejected an appeal by former Connecticu­t

men’s basketball coach Kevin Ollie, who sought to overturn findings that he violated ethical conduct rules while leading the Huskies.

The NCAA Division I Infraction­s Appeals Committee ruled Ollie failed to prove that informatio­n he presented alleging witnesses against him lied outweighed the informatio­n that supported the violation findings.

Jeff Carter’s season might be over, regardless of whether the Kings play any more hockey games.

General manager Rob Blake said Carter is still undergoing rehabilita­tion from a core injury suffered in mid-February — a recovery process that has been complicate­d by protective social distancing and self-isolation measures. — Jack Harris
