23rd Beijing Music Festival to kick off in October featuring virtual performances
The 23rd Beijing Music Festival is scheduled to kick off in October this year, back with a bang as it features a mix of physical, virtual performances and more than 240 hours of uninterrupted audio- visual performances for music lovers.
This comes as good news for festival fans as concerts and music shows were canceled or suspended in the first half of 2020 due to COVID- 19.
The music festival is returning with new elements this year, featuring more than 100 musicians telling stories and anecdotes via 28 web- cast programs.
"What we provide to our audience through Internet is not only a music- playing platform. We have added many online and offline interactions on this platform. In addition, we have selected a large amount of leading songs and operas for the audience to enjoy. The festival brings musicians from all around the world, all of whom are old friends of the festival, to create a great music carnival atmosphere after the epidemic," said Zou Shuang, artistic director of Beijing Music Festival.
The festival will start on Oct. 10 and last for 10 days. There will be more than 20 musical performances, including orchestras, solo concerts and opera films.
