Local delicacies in southwest China province earn reputation, attract tourists

Located in southwest China, Guizhou Province is not only home to many cultural relics but also known for its delicacies, which have earned high reputation and attracted millions of tourists to eye the spectacula­r views and have a bit of both sour and spicy cuisine.

"Shefan," which is made of glutinous rice, preserved meat, artemisia annua, green onion and other ingredient­s, is a signature delicacy in Tongren City.

Used to be a traditiona­l food for people of the Dong ethnic group, "Shefan" has now become the must- eat food for tourists who visit the city.

The acid, red soil in Zunyi, rich in chili peppers, is also home to red sorghum, the raw material of many famous Chinese liquor brands such as Moutai.

Apart from above- mentioned stuff, Zuiyi also presents its notable snack Shaotangyu­an, a ball- shaped food whose wrapper is made of sweet potato powder and filling made of pork, tofu, preserved pickle and spring onion.
