Osborne’s big game gives UCLA a big win
Charisma Osborne scored 24 points Friday night to lead No. 6 UCLA to a 70-66 victory over No. 5 Stanford in a Pac-12 game at Santa Cruz.
Michaela Onyenwere had an off shooting night for the Bruins (9-2, 7-2 Pac-12), making only five of 22 shots from the field, but she had 16 points and 10 rebounds and made some clutch free throws in the final seconds to seal the victory.
Stanford (11-2, 8-2) lost its second game in row. The Cardinal were led by Kiana Williams with 19 points.
UCLA had 21 offensive rebounds, six by Onyenwere and five by Osborne. The Bruins were in control most of the way until a 7-0 Stanford run tied it at 63-63. From there, Onyenwere made a layup, and she and Osborne combined to make five free throws to close it out.

UC Santa Barbara 105, at Cal State Northridge 58: JaQuori McLaughlin had 21 points as the Gauchos (9-3, 5-2 Big West Conference) rolled to their fifth straight victory. TJ Starks scored a career-high 29 points for the Matadors (5-5, 1-2). Cal State Bakersfield 47, at UC Riverside 45: Both teams set season scoring lows, but the Roadrunners (10-4, 6-1 Big West) won their sixth game in a row. Zyon Pullin had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Highlanders (6-4, 3-2). at UC Irvine 68, Cal Poly 49: Collin Welp scored 15 points as the first-place Anteaters (7-4, 3-0 Big West) won their fifth in a row. Tuukka Jaakkola had three blocks for the Mustangs (2-9, 0-5), who have lost seven straight. at Cal State Fullerton 83, Hawaii 67: Tray Maddox Jr. scored 23 points, making five of seven three-pointers, and Dante Maddox Jr. added 20 for the Titans (4-4, 3-4 Big West). The Rainbow Warriors (3-4, 1-4) have lost four in a row.
