VACCINE QUEUE

-

Ukrainian service members wait to be given the AstraZeneca COVID-19 shot at a base in Kramatorsk on Tuesday. President Volodymyr Zelensky also received the vaccine during a visit with military personnel in an area of separatist conflict in eastern Ukraine. “Vaccine will let us live without restrictions again,” he wrote on Twitter, seeking to dispel widespread public skepticism about vaccination. He got the shot even though he contracted the coronavirus last year. Ukraine began the inoculation effort last week after getting the first 500,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from India. It plans to vaccinate 14.4 million people, or about a third of its population. Ukraine has recorded more than 1.4 million infections and 27,650 deaths.
