Tax miles, not gallons pumped

Re “Tax the rich for better roads,” letters, April 9

One possible answer to the question of how to pay for roads in view of the proposed phasing out of cars powered by gasoline is a tax based on miles driven annually instead of how much fuel you use.

That would be fair to drivers of both gasoline and electric vehicles. Margo Kasdan
