Wild elephants in southwest China find accommodation near water sources

-

The migrating wild elephant herd in southwest China, which has grabbed world's attention online, found themselves a temporary accommodation site near a water source on Tuesday.

The herd trekked southwestward for four kilometers on early Tuesday, eventually taking rest near Yani River for abundant food and water supplies in Yuxi City.

The stray male elephant is also in Yuxi City, around 68 kilometers northeast of the herd after leaving the group for 32 days.

The lone ranger also found himself a rest spot near a water source as it has been seen playing with palm trees at an agricultural area.
