Son of Anthony Rocco DeLellis Sr. and Norma Ruth Fleck DeLellis, Anthony Rocco DeLellis Jr., 79, passed away with family at his side at the St. John of God Retirement and Care Center in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday morning after a valiant fight against dementia.

A proud native and lifelong resident of Los Angeles, Tony attended Loyola High School and Stanford University where he was a valued member of the football teams. At Stanford he found a second family, the boys of Delta Tau Delta. Tony also received an MBA from UCLA.

Tony was a businessman and philanthropist and a devoted member of Holy Family Church parish in South Pasadena. He built the business that his father founded, Del-tho Industries, into one of the leading packaging distributors in the Southwest. In recent years, Tony was proud to watch as the business continue to grow under the leadership of his son Tom and daughter Katie.

Tony enjoyed his work. He also enjoyed traveling, golfing and spending time with family and friends. He collected nautical antiques, paintings and classic cars.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marion, his four loving children, Tony (Gary) DeLellis III, Tom (Elaine) DeLellis, Katie (Michael) Henderson and Susie (Armando) Petruccelli. He was very proud of his seven grandchildren, Madison, Luca and Marco Petruccelli, Lochlann, Darragh, and Brighid Henderson and Lily Rose DeLellis. Tony also leaves behind his sister Karen (Wayne) Lemieux, and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tony’s funeral will be at Holy Family Catholic Church at 1527 Fremont Avenue in South Pasadena on Friday September 24th at 10am, followed by a celebration of his life at San Gabriel Country Club at 1130am. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers Tony’s family has suggested gifts could be made in his memory to St. John of God Retirement and Care Center at 2468 South St. Andrew’s Place Los Angeles CA 90018, an organization that Tony and his father before him cared for deeply and that gracefully cared for him as he was leaving this life.
