A firefighter’s gesture to us

-

Re “L.A. firefighter is accused of a vulgar act over mandate,” Nov. 26

The Los Angeles firefighter who reportedly expressed his disapproval with vaccine mandates by wiping his buttocks with a letter from the city probably feels he was just displaying his Trumpian masculinity. In reality, he was showing everyone his utter contempt for the members of the community he serves.

Most taxpayers are doing what they can to protect themselves and others from this dangerous pandemic. There is no other way to do it: Mask, distance and vaccinate.

I sincerely hope that firefighter doesn’t have a mother or father at the mercy of public servants who think the way he does. Diana Strain

You give too much coverage to this sleazy story. A short blurb would suffice.

A teacher or nurse would have been fired, not sent off to chortle while on paid leave. Phil Brimble
