Ex-Montreal GM Bergevin joining Kings’ front office

Marc Bergevin, who was fired by the Montreal Canadiens in November after more than nine seasons as their general manager, has been hired by the Kings to be senior advisor to general manager Rob Blake, the Kings announced Sunday.

The Bergevin-built Canadiens reached the Stanley Cup Final last year, coming out of the pandemic-created all-Canadian division, but they lost in five games to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The team is last in the Atlantic Division this season. — Helene Elliott

Mason McTavish, the Ducks’ first-round pick in last year’s draft, switched Ontario Hockey League teams, moving from the Peterborou­gh Petes to the Hamilton Bulldogs in a trade. ... The NHL postponed two games scheduled for Monday night — Tampa Bay at New Jersey and Ottawa at Edmonton — because of COVID-19 issues.

Djokovic’s visa, which was canceled after his arrival last week because he is unvaccinat­ed, and ordered the government to release Djokovic from hotel quarantine. Bowe will compete in the 1,000 and 1,500 in Beijing, and Goetz will compete in the 500 and 1,000.
