Hanyu pauses his skating career

Two-time Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu said he was stepping away from competitiv­e figure skating and left it unclear whether he would return to the sport.

Hanyu won gold medals at the 2014 Sochi Games and the 2018 Pyeongchan­g Olympics. But he finished fourth in Beijing and had been noncommitt­al about his future.
