A return to Santa Anita

The Breeders’ Cup will return to Santa Anita for the first time in four years in 2023 for the 40th running of the championship series event:

Dates: Nov. 3-4, 2023

Purse: $31 million

Number of races: Five on Nov. 3, nine on Nov. 4.

Years hosted by Santa Anita: A record 11 times, in 1986, ’93, 2003, ’08, ’09, ’12, ’13, ’14, ’16, ’19, ’23.
