Looking for a playoff push

The Galaxy have made the MLS playoffs just once since 2016, losing more games than they have won over the last six seasons. With 13 games left in the 2022 season and the team holding the Western Conference’s seventh and final playoff spot on a tiebreaker, here’s what the road ahead looks like:

Home (5): Vancouver, Seattle, Sporting Kansas City, Colorado, Real Salt Lake

Away (8): FC Dallas, Sporting Kansas City, New England, Toronto, Nashville, Vancouver, San Jose, Houston

The Galaxy finished with 48 points last season, missing the postseason on a tiebreaker. They will need more than that to get over the hump this season, meaning they will have to take at least half the 39 points up for grabs in their final 13 games. They have averaged 1.43 points per game through their first 21 matches.
