This engaging article misses an opportunit­y to explore why Mexico City hasn’t better protected its own historic neighborho­ods or imposed limits on shortterm rentals, or why the minimum wage in Mexico remains abysmally low.

That Mexico City has become the choice of digital nomads from the U.S. is interestin­g, but not enough to explain the discontent of everyday Mexicans.
