Mariners place Rodríguez on IL

Seattle star rookie Julio Rodríguez was put on the injured list because of a bruised right wrist Sunday after being hit by a pitch a night before.

Manager Scott Servais said Xrays were negative but that the center fielder was very sore and wouldn’t be able to hold a bat for at least five days. The team decided it was best to put him on the injured list so it could add another player to the roster.

The Mariners also put Dylan Moore on the IL on Sunday after the outfielder started having back spasms Saturday night.
