Harry Elburton Rice died peacefully at home on September 6, 2022 at 93 years of age. He was born on May 21, 1929 in Florence, Alabama to Virgil Eli and Clara Lee Rice (Turner), both of Missouri. He spent his childhood in Missouri and California, graduating from college in 1951 from Emmanuel Missionary College (now Andrews University) in Berrien Springs, Michigan and then graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California in 1955. He did his internship and residency (Internal Medicine) at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles before being inducted into the Navy as a Naval Physician from 1957-1959. After his discharge he worked as a physician at White Memorial and in private practice, working most of his profession­al life as a physician at Rancho Los Amigos in Downey, California. He resided in Los Angeles County for 69 years and in Long Beach for the majority of those years. He is survived by his daughter, Karin Alisa Rice of Pasadena; his son, Kevin Eric Rice (Teresa) of Long Beach; and two granddaugh­ters, Karli Erin Rice Chudeau (Nicolas) of Davis, California and Taylor Lauren Rice (Aaron Espinoza) of Long Beach. Burial will be a private family affair at Valhalla Cemetery in North Hollywood with a Celebratio­n of Life party at a future date.
