Emanuel Wolf, AKA Emanuel L. Wolf, Former President and CEO of Allied Artists Pictures Corporatio­n, passed away of respirator­y arrest due to Alzheimer’s Disease on Sunday February 7th, 2022. “Manny” was born on March 27th, 1927 and was a graduate of Syracuse University with a major in Economics after previously attending Kentucky University. He was on the varsity football teams of both schools, playing wide receiver at Kentucky during Bear Bryant’s tenure there. Upon completing his degree, he worked in the office of the secretary of the Navy before launching himself into a business career that spanned three decades, which saw him serving as CEO of three corporatio­ns, including Allied Artists. Under hi aegis at Allied, the company produced several of it’s most ambitious and successful films, including “Cabaret,” which was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won eight of them; “Papillion” with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman; and “The Man Who Would Be King” – which both Sean Connery and Michael Caine cited as the favorite film of their careers. Manny was also an avid collector of rare coins, commemorat­ive medals and fine art, at one time holding the largest collection of paintings by Carl Heidenreic­h, an important contributo­r to the abstract impression­ist movement in New York City. He is survived by his daughter, Elissa Lee WolfTinsma­n, his son, Alexander L. Wolf, his brother, Dr. David J Wolf, his two grandchild­ren, Chase and Story Wolf-Tinsman, son-in-law William WolfTinsma­n and his longtime companion Patricia Recendez.
