IOC visits L.A. sites for 2028

The Internatio­nal Olympic Committee’s coordinati­on commission made its first in-person visit to Los

Angeles this week to inspect proposed venues for the 2028 Games. After being kept away because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the group met with local organizing officials over three days.

“We are well-positioned for an exceptiona­l event,” LA28 organizing committee Chairman Casey WasserAlys­sa man said at a media briefing on the UCLA campus, site of the future athletes’ village.

The Seattle Seahawks placed safety Jamal Adams on injured reserve for the quadriceps tendon injury he suffered in the opener against Denver . ... The Pittsburgh Steelers placed star linebacker T.J. A federal judge in Boston ordered a new trial for Jovan Vavic, a former decorated USC water polo coach convicted in the college admissions bribery scandal. Indira Talwani found that some evidence introduced by the government in Vavic’s case to be unreliable and that prosecutor­s erred in their argument to jurors about some of the alleged bribe money.
