-

Alexander Eugen Müller died peacefully in his home on Sunday, September 11, 2022 in Costa Mesa, California at the age of 78. It happened to be Patriot and Grandparents Day, very appropriate for a man who loved being an American citizen, living the American dream, and doting on his grandchildren.

Alexander is survived by wife, Christine; children, Brigid & Brian Alexander, Dominic Müller, Christina & Dave Craig, Alberta & Darren Houck, Alexander & Amanda Müller, Joseph & Christina Müller, Patrick & Jess Müller, Robert Müller, Rosemary & Stephen Hawkins, Virginia & Greg Partridge and William & Katie Müller; twenty-eight grandchildren, sibling, Peter Müller. Alexander is preceded in death by his mother, Elvira Aida Volta Müller, father, Alexander Victor Müller and sister, Irene Stanley.

Alexander was born on November 21, 1943 in Berlin, Germany to Alexander and Elvira Müller. With it being during the Second World War, his family immigrated to Chile, South America before they were sponsored by Alexander’s brother-in-law, Duffy Stanley, to become United States citizens. They arrived in the United States when Alexander was 10 years old. He grew up in Hollywood, where he graduated from Hollywood High School in 1961. After High School, Alexander served his adopted country proudly and was honorably discharged as an SPC, HHC 40th Infantry-Special Forces, Airbourne Green Beret. He married Christine Porter on February 14, 1970 and according to him, it truly was love at first sight. He was the ultimate romantic and if you asked him why Valentine’s Day was their anniversary he would grin and say, so he would never forget it. After getting married, he started his own Custom Upholstery business, which continued to support his family for over 50 years. His clients spanned from Newport Beach to Montecito, California, and everywhere in between. Over fifteen years, the couple welcomed 11 children into their home and Alexander set about teaching them humility and integrity. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, and above all, loving father who encouraged them to always remain close as siblings and to respect and listen to their mother.

Alexander was an example of selfless love with a quiet faith that lead him in his life. He was a loving, gentle giant with a twinkle in his eye, devoted to his wife and children from the beginning until the very end. He loved Notre Dame Football and the Los Angeles Dodgers, as well as perusing the newspaper on Sunday morning and catching up on the tabloids any chance he got. He became an avid Instagram user in recent years, and if you want, take a look at his posts, the captions capture him.

A funeral is scheduled for Friday, September 23, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Michael’s Abbey at 27977 Silverado Canyon Road, Silverado, CA 92676. https://stmichaelsabbey.com/onetime-donation/ The family would like to thank Sea Crest Home Health and Dr. Nezami at Orange Coast Medical Center of Hope for their efforts, care, and dedication to Alexander.
