YOUNG, Edward
Edward Parke Young, Jr. was born in Burliegh, Idaho on April 30, 1937 to Edward Parke Young, Sr. and Lucerne Simonsen. He spent time in movies and Armed Forces radio as a child actor before going to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where he helped to design the current radio station there. He went on to earn a Masters in Social Work from USC and worked as a Probation Officer for LA County for 42 years. He had a long and illustrious career helping at-risk youth, both professionally and via organizations such as the Neighborhood Justice Council, the West Hills Optimist Club, Optimist International and the West Hills Neighborhood Council. He passed away in his home on September 4, 2022. Jacquie, his wife of 63 years, passed away in April 2022. He is survived by two cousins, his brother, four of his five children, and his five grandchildren. Services will be held on November 12 at 11 am at St. Bernadine of Siena’s church in Woodland Hills.
