Edward Parke Young, Jr. was born in Burliegh, Idaho on April 30, 1937 to Edward Parke Young, Sr. and Lucerne Simonsen. He spent time in movies and Armed Forces radio as a child actor before going to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where he helped to design the current radio station there. He went on to earn a Masters in Social Work from USC and worked as a Probation Officer for LA County for 42 years. He had a long and illustriou­s career helping at-risk youth, both profession­ally and via organizati­ons such as the Neighborho­od Justice Council, the West Hills Optimist Club, Optimist Internatio­nal and the West Hills Neighborho­od Council. He passed away in his home on September 4, 2022. Jacquie, his wife of 63 years, passed away in April 2022. He is survived by two cousins, his brother, four of his five children, and his five grandchild­ren. Services will be held on November 12 at 11 am at St. Bernadine of Siena’s church in Woodland Hills.
