During his five seasons with the Lakers, the 7-foot-1 center averaged 17.7 points, an astounding 19.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game and shot 60.5% from the field. He helped the Lakers win their first championsh­ip in Los Angeles, where he was a four-time All-Star and made two NBA all-defensive teams and one AllNBA squad. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1979.
