The 6-7 power forward joined Elgin Baylor in the Minneapolis frontcourt in 1959 to form a dynamic duo, making three AllStar teams while helping the Lakers reach the NBA Finals three times. A five-time All-Star who made an all-defensive team with the San Francisco Warriors, he averaged 14.1 points and 9.6 rebounds in eight seasons with the Lakers.
