A valuable reserve and part-time starter for most of his two-plus seasons with the Lakers early in his career, the 6-8 forward was a prototypical 3-and-D wing during two runs to the NBA Finals and a title in 2009. Ariza returned in 2021-22 last season for an injury-plagued season. He averaged 7.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 steals with the Lakers.
