Kings’ comeback falls short
Kopitar robbed with 21.8 seconds left as win streak ends at four. Kaliyev scores twice in wild first period.

CALGARY, Canada — Arthur Kaliyev scored two goals in a 78-second span in the first period, but the Kings rallied short in a wild, 6-5 loss to the Calgary Flames on Monday.
L.A. had its four-game winning streak end after a third-period push in which Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe scored to make it 6-5. Kopitar was robbed by Flames goalie Jacob Markstrom with 21.8 seconds left when Markstrom made a left-to-right stop on the Kings captain from in close.
Jonathan Quick made 23 saves while under duress most of the night as the teams combined for six goals in the first period. Kevin Fiala ran his goal-scoring streak to three games.
Calgary took leads of 5-2 and 6-3 on goals by Elias Lindholm and Adam Ruzicka before Kopitar beat Markstrom blocker side at 8:57 of the third. Kempe recorded his seventh goal on a one-timer that deflected off MacKenzie Weegar at 18:41.
Kaliyev scored his fifth and sixth goals in the opening seven minutes.
