Herbert undergoes shoulder surgery

Chargers quarterbac­k Justin Herbert had surgery on his left, non-throwing shoulder, the team announced.

The procedure addressed an issue with his labrum. The Chargers said the expectatio­n is that Herbert will be ready for their spring offseason program. He was hurt during the team’s Week 17 victory over the Rams but did not miss any playing time.
