Ducks falls short in OT to Canucks
VANCOUVER, Canada — J.T. Miller scored his second goal of the game 20 seconds into overtime to give the Vancouver Canucks a 3-2 win over the Ducks on Wednesday night.
Miller beat goalie Lukas Dostal with a high wrist shot.
Miller also scored a short-handed goal in the first period, Andrei Kuzmenko added a goal and Elias Pettersson had two assists to help Vancouver win its third straight game. Goalie Thatcher Demko stopped 20 shots.
Troy Terry and Brock McGinn scored for the Ducks. Dostal made 31
The Ducks continue their three-game trip with a game against the Calgary Flames on Friday night.
Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Tony DeAngelo was suspended two games by the NHL for spearing Tampa Bay’s Corey Perry during a scrum. DeAngelo received a major penalty and a game misconduct Tuesday for pushing a stick into
Perry's lower body. The action set off a more intense scrum. DeAngelo said after the game he was trying to give Perry, a former Duck, “a little shot.” ... San Jose Sharks coach David Quinn was fined $25,000 for his profanity-laced tirade against a referee that led to a game misconduct. The NHL announced the penalty for “conduct demeaning the officials” by Quinn during Saturday's 8-3 loss to the Washington Capitals.
