Dalton and Heinicke on move, Ryan released
Carolina agreed to a two-year, $10-million contract with quarterback Andy Dalton, the Associated Press reported, while Atlanta and quarterback Taylor Heinicke agreed on a two-year contract worth up to $20 million.
The Panthers own the top pick in the draft next month and are targeting a quarterback. Dalton, 35, started 14 games for New Orleans last year and threw for 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Heinicke, 29, started 24 games for Washington the last two seasons, throwing for 32 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.
Indianapolis will release quarterback Matt Ryan, the AP reported. Ryan, 37, started 12 games for Indianapolis last season before being benched.
