Logano strong, wins on last lap

Joey Logano dominated early and then passed Brad Keselowski on the final lap to win NASCAR’s Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Ga., and end the early season domination of Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsport­s.

Logano won the pole and led a strong showing of three straight Team Penske drivers in qualifying, but Keselowski looked like the Ford driver to beat late. Keselowski had help from Corey LaJoie, but Logano got a push from Christophe­r Bell that proved decisive on the final lap.

Bell finished third in a Toyota and LaJoie finished a career-best fourth in a Chevrolet.

Sergio Perez won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and Max Verstappen drove from 15th to second to give Red Bull a one-two finish in what is shaping up to be a runaway season for the reigning Formula One champions. Fernando Alonso finished third for the second consecutiv­e race for his 100th career podium after it had been temporaril­y taken from him because of a 10-second penalty that was successful­ly appealed.

Nikola Jokic had 22 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists in his 28th triple-double of the season, Michael Porter Jr. had 28 points and nine rebounds, and the Denver Nuggets beat the host Brooklyn Nets 108-102 . ... Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 40 points, and the host Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Phoenix Suns 124-120 . ... Giannis Antetokoun­mpo had 22 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists and the host Milwaukee Bucks rallied for a 118-111 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

The Carolina Panthers agreed to terms with freeagent receiver Adam Thielen, who was released by the Minnesota Vikings . ... The Dallas Cowboys acquired receiver Brandin Cooks in a trade with the Houston Texans. Houston gets a fifthround pick this year and a 2024 sixth-rounder.

Tim Weah will sit out the United States’ CONCACAF Nations League matches against Grenada and El Salvador after getting hurt while playing for Lille. The U.S. Soccer Federation said Weah had entered concussion protocol . ... Barcelona took a major step toward winning its first Spanish league title since 2019 after coming from behind to beat Real Madrid 2-1 on a stoppage-time goal by Franck Kessie . ... Fulham had two players and manager Marco Silva sent off in a frantic five minutes against Manchester United as their FA Cup dreams collapsed in a 3-1 loss . ... Arnaud Kalimuendo scored against his boyhood club as leader Paris SaintGerma­in was beaten 2-0 by Rennes for its first home loss in the French league this season, ending a 35-game unbeaten run at home.

Mikaela Shiffrin won her 21st career giant slalom at the World Cup Finals in Soldeu, Andorra, as the American standout ended the season with yet another record. The victory moved Shiffrin past Vreni Schneider ,a week after matching the Swiss skier’s mark of 20 World Cup GS victories.

Kirsten Simms scored a goal and Cami Kronish had 31 saves to help Wisconsin beat top-seeded and defending NCAA champion Ohio State 1-0 at Duluth, Minn., earning the Badgers their seventh national hockey title.

Missouri linebacker Chad Bailey was suspended from the team after he was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicate­d early Sunday, the team said.
