Heat will be without Jaquez for Game 5

The Miami Heat will be without yet another starter when they face an eliminatio­n game in Boston on Wednesday night.

Rookie forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. did not travel for Game 5, ruled out because a strained right hip flexor. He joins Jimmy Butler (knee) and Terry Rozier (neck), who both are also out.

Jaquez left Monday’s Game 4, a 102-88 loss, after suffering the injury in the second half. He had nine points in 22 minutes.

“Felt something give in the hip,” Jaquez said after Game 4. He said it happened early in the third quarter while jumping for a rebound.

Derrick White scored a careerhigh 38 points, and Jayson Tatum added 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics, who won at Miami for the sixth straight time.

Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis (calf ) also is out.

In Monday’s other late playoff game, Jalen Williams had 24 points and a big three, and Oklahoma City beat New Orleans 97-89 to complete a sweep . ... New York swingman Bojan Bogdanovic will have foot surgery and miss the rest of the playoffs . ... Cleveland center Jarrett Allen (rib) missed Tuesday’s Game 5 against Orlando . ... Top-seeded Jannick Sinner beat Karen Khachanov 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 to reach the quarterfin­als for the first time while Francisco Cerundolo upset two-time champion Alexander Zverev 6-3, 6-4. Cerundolo will next face Taylor Fritz, who beat Hubert Hurkacz 7-6 (2), 6-4 while Daniil Medvedev beat Alexander Bublik 7-6 (3), 6-4.
