Los Gatos Mayor Marico Sayoc was among the judges of the “To Be Honest” art contest sponsored by Momentum for Health. As executive director of Counseling and Support Services for Youth (CASSY), Sayoc was well positioned to help choose the winners from among 111 submissions by Santa Clara County residents ages 14-25. Drawings, paintings, sculptures, jewelry, music, digital art, videos and poetry reflected the theme “My Mental Health in 2020.” “We tried to lift some of the restraints young people have been living under for the past 11 months by allowing them to choose their preferred mediums,” Momentum President and CEO David Mineta said in a statement. “This was also an opportunity for young artists to communicate to the community how the pandemic is affecting their mental health.”
