Terrence J. Daily
Apr. 19, 1943 - Dec. 31, 2021
Resident of Los Gatos
Terrence J. Daily died unexpectedly at home on New Year’s Eve from heart failure. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey as a child. He was forever a “Jersey boy.” He grew up by the ocean and many of his happiest moments were by the beach. His love of his alma mater, University of Notre Dame, was fierce and continued to his death. Terry hosted a Notre Dame Football Show on a local television station for many years. He attended the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he met the love of his life, Leeanne (Horine). They were married for 54 amazing years. Terry practiced law for 44 years as an Assistant District Attorney in New York City’s Homicide Bureau, a Public Defender in Santa Clara County, and as a criminal defense attorney in both Atlantic City and San Jose where his presence in the courtroom was memorable. He coached Los Gatos Little League and Pony League for over 16 years while his three sons were players. He loved his players and spent hours on the baseball field. Terry was active in Los Gatos politics, serving on the Planning Commission, Town Council and Mayor of Los Gatos. Through St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he volunteered to visit the sick in their homes and in skilled nursing. Terry had a unique and memorable sense of humor that was evidenced both professionally and personally. His presence filled every room he entered. He was devoted to his family and was immensely proud of his three adult sons and their wives, Matthew (Jenny), Sean (Victoria) and Ryan and his four grandchildren who brought him many smiles and such joy, Nikolas (10), Benjamin (7), Max (9) and Elle (5). Terry left us too soon and is greatly missed by his family and many friends. A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be held in the spring.
