Los Gatos names Salina Flores as HR director
Selina Flores was named Los Gatos's new human resources director on Feb. 17.
Flores is making the move from acting human resources manager for the City of Campbell, and she has nearly 20 years of human resources experience in both public and private sectors.
“I am honored and excited about this wonderful opportunity, and I am looking forward to working with a team of dedicated professionals,” Flores said in a press release.
Los Gatos conducted a statewide search to fill the role after Lisa Velasco, the town's current human resources director, announced her retirement.
The town is working to fill several vacant positions, including town attorney and finance director. There are several openings in the Los Gatos-monte Sereno Police Department, and the town is actively recruiting police dispatchers.
“We are excited to have Salina join the town,” Town Manager Laurel Prevetti said. “She brings strong human resources experience, understands the challenges of small agencies, and brings new ideas and perspectives.
“Among her responsibilities, Salina will play a key role in attracting, developing and retaining a high-quality workforce who deliver excellent services to the community of Los Gatos,” Prevetti added.
Flores will oversee all human resources functions in Los Gatos, including benefit administration, recruitment, labor negotiations, training and development, among other responsibilities. Her first day is Monday.
