Rita Boren

Rita Boren died on March 3, 2022 at the age of 86 of congestive heart failure. She was born Rita Wallace to John and Helen Wallace in Walhalla Oregon in 1935 . The family moved to Washougal, Washington, where Rita grew up on a cattle ranch. In 1954, she met and married Don Boren while attending the University of Washington in Pullman Washington. Rita and her family lived in Southern California, Maryland, New York, Utah, Texas and Germany before settling in the Los Gatos / Saratoga area in 1965.
Rita graduated from San Jose State University with honors with a B.S. in Finance in 1970, after which she commenced a successful five decade career selling real estate. Rita and Don divorced in 1985 and then Rita enjoyed a happy relationship with Miles Rankin until his death in 2013.
Rita was an avid world traveler, an energetic and dedicated realtor, and a local philanthropist primarily through the Rotary. Rita enjoyed attending local concerts and theater events and collected the work of local artists. She has left major endowments to the Symphony San Jose and West Valley College. Rita is remembered for being opinionated, vivacious and big hearted. Rita loved the life that she lived.
Rita is survived by her three children, Connie Paine, Richard Boren and Roberta Larson, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Rita is shown above with the Grid Compass computer that she bought in 1983, it was one of the first ten sold.
