Opera lectures

The San Francisco Opera Lecture Series is returning to Los Gatos this spring. The series will be held at the Addison-penzak Jewish Community Center, located at 14855 Oka Road. The first talk will be held on Wednesday, June 1, when UC

Santa Barbara associate professor Dr. Derek Katz will discuss Mozart's “Don Giovanni.” On Wednesday, June 8, journalist Ken Smith will discuss Sheng's “Dream of the Red Chamber.”

The series will pick back up at the end of August, in line with the opera's fall season. The lecture series, which will run through June of next year, is co-sponsored by the San Francisco Opera Guild, the Addison-penzak Jewish Community Center and the San Jose Opera Guild.
