A more nuanced choice for president

-

I am about 6 months younger than Joe Biden and can certainly relate to some of the signs of aging. But I have to admit that as those signs have become more pronounced and the possibility of mental impairment has increased, I have wondered why those who are closest to him would put him in this position. I also wonder how those same people will answer the hypothetical question, “Why weren’t you honest with the American people when you knew the truth?” The response: “Even a diminished Joe Biden is better for the country than Trump” is not acceptable.

It should not be a personality contest, but one focused on policies that each ticket espouses. Look carefully at the values championed by each ticket and answer the question, “How will these values translate into life for me and my family?”

Both parties say this is a monumental election. I agree. But I don’t believe in a cult of personality and will cast my ballot on policies and values. And when it comes to using a party’s majority in the Senate, remember when Barack Obama told John Mccain, “Elections have consequences.”

helped achieve 95% coverage in health care, expanding Medicaid to 400,000 additional Coloradans. He is focused on strengthening programs including CHIP, Medicare and Medicaid and allowing coverage for preexisting conditions. Sen. Gardner has voted a dozen times to repeal or defund the ACA.

As governor, Hickenlooper facilitated the oil and gas industr y to work with environmental groups to set regulations for methane. He will work to maintain these standards and accelerate development of wind/solar energy, a large employer of Coloradans.

Hickenlooper is a strong advocate for gun control legislation, signing gun control proposals banning high-capacity magazines and requiring background checks with support of diverse local and state officials. Gardner has received nearly $4 million from the NRA, standing in the way of allowing background checks.

Residents and visitors enjoy the good life Colorado offers. Hickenlooper will oppose the selling of federal lands occurring under the Trump administration.

Vote for John Hickenlooper for U.S. Senate. tr y to scheme the tax code to enrich themselves. Like me, a salaried employee over the years, their taxes were withdrawn from their wages. The vast majority of Americans are similarly situated. Tell me why, then, a responsible, patriotic citizen can support a president, who as a selfproclaimed business genius, has bilked the public out of millions of tax dollars? Most importantly, who are the Donald’s debtors? Is he beholden to the Russians? Isn’t he a national security threat?

Isn’t it time to hold him accountable? Or, are you Dear Responsible Trump supporter going to turn your head and pretend it doesn’t matter? Why are Trump’s senate allies like Cor y Gardner hiding in the bushes? Their silence rings loudly. Please, tell me why?
